Grace Meeking (SCHOOL PRINCIPAL)
Grace began dancing at the age of 5 at Roshe Performing Arts in Felbridge, taking exams in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz Dance. Grace took part in many shows at the Hawth Theatre in Crawley and successfully auditioned for the Weald Theatre Group Pantomime at Clair Hall in Haywards Heath. At 16 Grace gained a place at The Brit School for Performing Arts where she studied on their Dance diploma course for two years. She then went on to train at Performers College in Essex where she studied Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Jazz, Singing and Acting gaining her Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre.
Grace has appeared as a dancer on both Children In Need and Text Santa and has also performed at the Daisy Ball at Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
Since graduating in 2013 Grace has taught both dance and musical theatre at a number of different schools and dance clubs. In summer 2014 Grace travelled to Maine in America to work for a children’s summer camp. She took on the role of director of dance and put together two large performances whilst at camp.
In 2015 Grace decided to open her own dance school ‘Gracie Grooves Dance Studio’ providing classes from the Melody Movement syllabus created by Jill Bridger. Since then the school has grown and we now offers classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Musical Theatre and Street Dance for children aged 3 years and over!
Grace is also a qualified Urban Cheer Coach with UKCA, a Children's Theatre Chaperone and holds a Full Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Maddie (STREET DANCE TEACHER)
Maddie has been dancing since the age of 3. She started off learning Ballet and then later took on Modern, Jazz, Tap and Street Dance. Maddie has performed in shows in London and locally as well as various street dance competitions including a trip Blackpool! Maddie achieved her Diploma in Dance from The BRIT School and then went on to study for a year professionally in London to gain some more experience in new styles. She is currently studying at Chichester College and University to achieve her DDE qualifications in Modern and Ballet and her BA Hons in Dance.
Emma (BALLET & TAP TEACHER)
Emma trained at Roshe Performing Arts School for 14 years, achieving Advanced 1 in ISTD Ballet and Advanced 2 in ISTD Modern, Tap and Classical Greek and RAD Ballet. Emma achieved her ISTD Diploma in Dance Instruction (DDI) in 2014. Miss Emma went on to study at Bath Spa University and has a degree in Theatre Production BA(Hons). Emma is also a Certified Teacher of Progressing Ballet Technique and is currently working towards her DDE in Modern Theatre and Tap.
Holly (CLASS AND WORKSHOP ASSISTANT)
Holly joined Gracie Grooves as our class assistant in March 2022. She assists our younger Ballet, Tap and Street Dance classes. Holly is currently studying for her GCSE's in Dance, Art, Spanish and Business Studies She also takes part in Musical Theatre and Jazz dance classes outside of school.
Poppy (WORKSHOP ASSISTANT)
Poppy joined the team at Gracie Grooves in September 2017. She originally assisted at our Street Dance classes and then went on to assist at all of our dance classes and school holiday workshop events! Poppy is currently studying for her A Levels in Psychology, Business and Photography. Poppy is hoping to go to University in September 2022 and although now she doesn't assist at our weekly classes she will be back to help out at our workshops and performance events.
